<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics which uses a metal oxide and carbonate as starting materials, employs a solid-phase reaction method, is inexpensive in production cost compared with a gas-phase reaction method and is simple and easy to carry out a process. <P>SOLUTION: The production method for the ceramic having a chemical composition represented by x[(Bi<SB>a</SB>K<SB>1-a</SB>)TiO<SB>3</SB>]-(1-x)[BiFeO<SB>3</SB>] (wherein 0.5≤x≤0.6 and 0.4<a<0.6) includes the processes of: preparing the metal oxide and carbonate as starting materials; obtaining the mixture thereof; obtaining a molded body including the mixture; and heat-treating the molded body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
