PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jack device for a storage tank, which is simple and excellent in installation workability, and a construction method for a floating roof type storage tank, which can safely carry out repair work, of bottom plates and foundation or floating roofs with good working efficiency using the jack device in narrow and dark working spaces under a low ceiling. SOLUTION: The jack device 11 for a storage tank comprises: a support base 7; an outer cylinder 8 fitted to the top of the support base 7; a jack 10 to be set in the outer cylinder; and an inner cylinder 9 in a replacement structure mounted to the upper part of the jack 10 for vertically sliding in the outer cylinder.
