Provided are titanium oxide particles capable of manifesting a new property not present heretofore, a method for manufacturing said particles, and a magnetic memory and a charge storage type memory which utilize said particles. Provided are titanium oxide particles (3) capable of manifesting the new property not present heretofore, namely, that Ti3O5 particles can maintain the characteristics of a paramagnetic metal at all times across all temperature ranges without any phase transition at room temperature, unlike a conventional bulk body that phase transitions between a nonmagnetic semiconductor and a paramagnetic metal at a temperature of approximately 460K.
