<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus capable of avoiding the leakage of secret information without putting excessive burdens related to an authentication operation on the user. <P>SOLUTION: When the operating situation of the image forming apparatus is acquired through an operating situation acquisition part 73, a determination part 74 for determining the necessity/unnecessity of private printing determines the necessity/unnecessity of setting the private printing with respect to the new printing job based on the acquired operating situation.
