<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a fluorescent lamp with productivity improved through reduction of soldering man-hour at mounting on a substrate, the connector lessening a mounting occupant area in the substrate, and easy to replace a fluorescent lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The connector 20 for a fluorescent lamp includes a housing 40 mounted on the substrate, an actuator 50 axially supported by the housing 40 for retaining or releasing the fluorescent lamp as a backlight, and a terminal 30 fitted to the housing 40 and equipped with a contact part 32 in contact with a core wire Kr of the fluorescent lamp and a lead part 31 soldered to the substrate. A housing part 70 is provided at a part (a bottom face 40c) opposite to the substrate of the housing 40.
