PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an omnifocal image generation algorithm for easily and exactly forming a clear synthetic image in a generation means of an omnifocal image using wavelet transformation. SOLUTION: The generation means of the omnifocal image using the wavelet transformation is constituted by being provided with: a wavelet transformation means 100 which is a means for performing the wavelet transformation by synthesizing n images taken by arbitrarily changing focal points by a camera; a highlighting means 101 for a region, which is a means for highlighting a region by obtaining a wavelet transformation coefficient to be obtained by decomposing the image processed by the wavelet transformation means 100 into low frequency components and high frequency components; a detection means 102 of a focal region, which is a means for detecting the focal region by applying multi-value morphological processing to the image obtained by the highlighting means 101 of the region; a synthesizing means 103 of the focal region, which is a means for synthesizing color sample values using the focal region obtained by the detection means 102 of the focal region; and an omnifocal image 104 generated by the synthesizing means 103 of the focal region.
