<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an image display that is able to continuously remove the two different kinds of display mediums adhering to the upper edges of space forming members without requiring to move two particle removing plates generating both positive and negative electric fields first close to the space forming members such as partition walls then apart from them. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The charged particles 3a, 3b adhering to the upper edges of the partition wall 71 arranged on a substrate 6 to form display medium spaces are removed by a particle removing roller 10. The voltages different in polarity from each other are impressed to the electrodes 11 adjoining one another on the removing roller 10. The charged particles 3a or 3b are adsorbed to the electrode 11 by the electric field high enough to adsorb those adhering to the upper edges of the partition walls 71 but not high enough to adsorb those within the display medium spaces 2.
