<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such the problem that optimum color reproduction can not be performed when the state of an image input means changes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for processing multi-spectrum image is provided with a color conversion means for performing the color conversion of multiband images having at least four bands obtained by combining a plurality of input images input by a plurality of image input means 1 and 2 having bands different from each other. The color conversion means is provided with: a spectral sensitivity characteristic information correction means 5 for correcting spectral sensitivity characteristic information which is the spectral sensitivity characteristics of the image input means 1 and 2 on the basis of the ratio of exposure information included in the data of the plurality of input images respectively; and a device independent color image conversion means 7 for converting the multiband images to device independent color images using the corrected spectral sensitivity characteristic information and photographing illumination light information which is the spectral characteristics of illumination light when photographing the input images.
