PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently display standard image data and special image data acquired in the same target region for a diagnosis. SOLUTION: A standard image data generating part 4 and a special image data generating part 5 generate the standard image data of a standard display mode and the special image data from received signals acquired by transmission and reception of ultrasound relative to a plurality of slice cross-sections of a subject. A specific region detecting part 6 detects a specific region in the special image data in conjunction with the display of the standard image data. When an operator who has observed informing data generated by an informing data generating part 7 from the detection result of the specific region in a display part 8 updates from the standard display mode to a special display mode, a scanning control part 10 transmits and receives ultrasound to and from a specific slice cross-section of the subject having the specific region, and the special image data generating part 5 generates the special image data of the special display mode from the received signal acquired at the time and displays it in the display part 8.
