PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain superior reception characteristics by a simple configuration without restriction on a layout. SOLUTION: There is provided a radio receiver 5 of an automobile which receives a radio signal having a predetermined wavelengthλtransmitted from a transmission means of a mobile communication machine that a person in the automobile has. The radio receiver 5 is provided with a reception antenna element 12 of a monopole antenna and an earth-grounding plate 13 composed of a conductive member to which the reception antenna element 12 is grounded.
