PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the waveguide type rat race circuit which can be used suitably even in a high-frequency region, and to provide a mixer using the same. SOLUTION: The waveguide type rat race circuit is equipped with an annular waveguide section 30 which includes first through fourth ports 11-14 and is sectioned into a first waveguide section 21 connecting between the first and second ports, a second waveguide section 22 connecting between the second and third ports, a third waveguide section 23 connecting between the third and fourth ports, and a fourth waveguide section 24 connecting between the fourth and first ports, wherein the phase-shift amount of the first through third waveguide sections is (2n+1)π/2, and the difference between the sum of phase-shift amount of the first through third waveguide sections and the phase-shift amount of the fourth waveguide section is 2(m-1)π.
