The method involves combining digital values (13-15) of a flow rate measuring signal (2), temperature measuring signal (4) and pressure measuring signal (6) to an output value (18). Unique pre-calculated output values (21) are contained in a table (20) for different possible combination of the digital values. The output value is compared with the pre-calculated output values derived from the table based on the actual combination of the digital values. An alarm message (23) is produced, when deviation between the output and the pre-calculated output values exceeds a pre-determined measure. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for calculating diversity signal values.
