PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing alpha-hydroxy acid or urea and cactus flower extract is provided to remove dead cells on the skin and enhance activty of enzymes regarding desmosome decomposition. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for promoting skin peeling contains 0.05-5.0 weight% of alpha-hydroxy acid or 1.0-20.0 weight% of urea and 0.001-20.0 weight% of cactus flower extract as active ingredient. The alpha-hydroxy acid is lactic acid, citric acid, malic acid, or tartaric acid. The composition is used in the form of lotion, essence, cream, pack, gel, ointment, patch, or spray.
