The ventilation mechanism 10 cools the battery cells 1 by forcibly ventilating a cooling gas from the cooling duct 3 to a cooling gap 5 or from the cooling gap 5 to the cooling duct 3. The cooling duct 3 supplies or discharges the cooling gas from both ends by making openings 3A of both ends connect with the ventilation mechanism 10.
