<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remedy operability confusion or trouble due to retransmission by BS, when receiving a safety net as countermeasures against viewing difficulties of terrestrial digital broadcast. <P>SOLUTION: A digital receiver holds beforehand-tuning information to be used for performing tuning by a tuner 16. In the tuning information, a retransmission service by the BS for a viewing difficulty area of digital broadcast is stored as a service of terrestrial digital broadcast. Thus, when an operation instructing tuning is input to a remote controller 10, the retransmission service by the BS can be tuning-instructed as a service of terrestrial digital broadcast.
