Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the control device for the internal combustion engine applied to the independent throttle type internal combustion engine 1, a learning processing for correcting a request intake air amount in the idle operation and storing a value of the corrected request intake air amount as a learning value is repeatedly performed, and a throttle valve 9 is controlled so that the intake air amount in the idle operation becomes a value reflecting the result of the learning processing. When the stored learning value is cleared, the throttle valve 9 is controlled so that the intake air amount in the idle operation becomes a value for avoiding the insufficiency of the intake air amount in the start of the internal combustion engine subsequent to the clearing.
