PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit constitution for a DC-DC converter having a boosting function which suppresses switching loss effectively, while suppressing additional circuit elements for soft switching. SOLUTION: The DC-DC converter 100 has a diode D1, an inductor L2, and an inductor Lr which are additional circuit elements, in addition to an inductor L1, a switching element Q1, and a diode D2 which constitute a boosting chopper. Currents I(L2), I(D2) commutated by the diode D2 while the switching element Q1 is turned off are extinguished by the back electromotive force induced by the inductor Lr, during a turn-off period of the switching element Q1. When the switching element Q1 is turned on, zero current switching is achieved because the increase of the currents I(L2), Ic is suppressed by the inductor L2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
