<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce overhead for performing uplink spatial multiplexed transmission in a CSMA/CA system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A radio base station includes: a means for transmitting to a radio terminal station an uplink period starting packet indicating start of an uplink period; a means for receiving a transmission request packet transmitted from a radio terminal station via dedicated resources individually assigned beforehand; a means for specifying the radio terminal station that has transmitted the transmission request packet on the basis of the received transmission request packet; a means for transmitting a pilot transmission instruction packet instructing the specified radio terminal station to transmit a pilot signal while designating a different time slot; a means for receiving the pilot signal from the specified radio terminal station; a means for selecting a permission terminal to give an uplink transmission permission thereto on the basis of the received pilot signal; and a means for transmitting a permission terminal notification packet indicating the uplink transmission permission to the permission terminal.
