PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for sharing contents among home communities are provided to enable a content server to perform the communication for searching and sharing contents among home communities. CONSTITUTION: A media transmission unit transmits searched contents to a corresponding device of an internal home network, and a control point(204) manages the list of contents stored at plural devices. A control unit(220) receives the content request from an external home network or an internal home network device, and tests the sharing right registered for the device or the external home network. In addition, the control unit provides the corresponding contents according to the sharing right.
