<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform authentication while narrowing down check targets down, reducing a time for authentication while maintaining high authentication accuracy, and to prevent an authentication error, in an authentication device for use in highly secure entrance and exit control in multiple stages. <P>SOLUTION: The authentication device includes: a registration unit (user registration database 6) for registering authentication information representing a check target; a first authentication means (authentication device 62) for authenticating the check target when the check target enters a first area; a second authentication means (authentication device 70) for authenticating the check target when entering a second area after authenticated by the first authentication means; and a detection means (person tracking device 10) for detecting the check target present in a detection area (74) and expected to be authenticated by the second authentication means wherein registration information is extracted from the registration unit for the check target detected by the detection means, and second authentication is performed using the registration information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
