PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of performing an earthquake emergency operation even if a detector in normal use is damaged. SOLUTION: In this elevator device, a first (normal) detector 9 is provided to a car 2 running in a hoistway 1, a first (normal) landing position detector 7 which faces the first (normal) detector 9 and performs a landing position detecting operation for the car 2 projects in the hoistway 1 at the stop position for the car 2 on the hoistway side, and the earthquake emergency operation is performed by the operation of an earthquake sensor. The elevator device includes a wide second (emergency) detector 10 in the car 2 and a second (emergency) landing position detector 8 provided to the hoistway 1 side which faces the emergency detector 10.
