<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular engine miniaturized in dimensions thereof and increased in dimensions of a breather chamber by improving arrangement of a starter motor, the breather chamber and a speed sensor, in the vehicular engine including a crank case housing a transmission shaft and a transmission gear group with a crank shaft, the breather chamber communicating the inside and the outside of the crank case with each other, and the speed sensor for detecting rotation of the transmission gears. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A top wall of the crank case is protruded upward to support the speed sensor, and the speed sensor is arranged with a displacement in the axial direction of a transmission. An upper wall of the breather chamber is formed at the nearly same height as that of the top wall of the crank case supporting the speed sensor, and the breathe chamber is arranged adjacent to the speed sensor in the axial direction of the transmission, and the depth of the breather chamber is formed nearly the same as the length of the speed sensor in the axial direction thereof.
