PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral cavity care instrument capable of directly sending available chlorine into a periodental pocket to efficiently disinfect the periodental pocket. SOLUTION: The oral cavity care instrument includes the contact element 11 coming into contact with a tooth plane or a neck of a tooth in contact parts 11a, a pair of electrodes A and B, and a power supply for supplying a current across a pair of the electrodes A and B. A current is supplied to the electrode A on the side at least becoming a positive electrode of a pair of the electrodes A and B in a state that the electrode A is brought into contact with an oral cavity fluid to produce available chlorine on the basis of chloride ions in the oral cavity fluid.
