PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve arbitrary data with an extremely small number of dial key operations. SOLUTION: Key registration information 15B representing correspondence between dial keys and assigned characters is stored in a memory 15. An assigned character corresponding to the pressed-down dial key is acquired from the key registration information 15B as input candidate information by a key input processing part 16B which is preserved in the key input information 15C of the memory 15. A data retrieving part 16C retrieves data wherein one of the assigned characters included in input candidate information in the key input information 15C is present in such a column position that corresponds to the press-down sequence of the dial key from a database 15A.
