PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate avoidance of failure or the like due to interference with a steering wheel or collision of flying stone in a pressure regulating valve enabling avoidance of excessive reaction force generation in a damper at the time of maximum compression operation. SOLUTION: A front fork includes a fork body comprising a vehicle body side tube 1 and a wheel side tube, has a communication hole 11a allowing communication between an inside and an outside of the fork body at a cap member 11 blocking an upper end opening of the vehicle body side tube 1, and includes the pressure regulating valve 12 connected to a diameter expansion part in the communication hole 11a. In the front fork, a connection direction of the pressure regulating valve 12 to the cap member 11 is inclined to an axial direction which is an expansion and contraction direction of the fork body.
