<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that suitably enlarges and displays an arbitrary area on a through image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging device includes a display unit 90 which displays a first through image S1 based upon image data obtained by imaging. The imaging device includes an operation unit used to specify a first position P1 on the first through image S1. The imaging device includes a control unit which makes the display unit 90 display a second through image S2, obtained by enlarging an image of an enlargement display object area including a first position P1, on a part of the first through image S1. The operation unit is used to specify a second position P2 on the second through image S2. When the second position P2 is specified, the control unit changes the first position P1 to a position corresponding to the second position P2 on the first through image, updates the enlargement display object area in accordance with the change in the first position P1 and also makes the enlargement display object area narrow (CA1→CA2), and displays the second through image S2 in a state wherein enlargement magnification is increased.
