<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-noise motor-driven blower preventing operating noise of an impeller and an electric motor from being transmitted through a soundproof case, and reducing noise of a wide frequency region, and to provide a vacuum cleaner using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The motor-driven blower includes: the electric motor 4; the impeller 6 fixed to an output shaft 5 of the electric motor 4; an air guide 10 forming a ventilation passage in the outer periphery of the impeller; a fan case 12 covering the impeller 6 and the air guide 10; the soundproof case 15 covering the electric motor 4 and the fan case 12 so that an intake port 11 in the central part of the fan case 12 is exposed; and an exhaust port 50 provided on the downstream side of the soundproof case 15.
