GLOBAL SYSTEM FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS (GSM) PACKET SWITCHED DOMAIN CODING METHOD, DEVICE AND SYSTEM

A GSM packet switched domain coding method, device and system are provided. The method includes the following steps: determining whether there is information indicating the length of the carried valid data in the control field of the Radio Link Control/Medium Access Control (RLC/MAC) block header, wherein the valid data length is the length of the data input before coding; when there is information of the valid data length in the control field of the RLC/MAC block header, performing the variable length channel coding according to the length of the data input before coding and the length of the data output after coding. Because the method adds the information indicating the valid data length in the control field, the transmission end can perform the variable length coding according to the valid data length. Because the length of data carried in the RLC/MAC block is variable, the situation that idle bit or invalid filling byte occurs in the carried frame can be avoided, so that the limited bandwidth resource is saved and the link performance is improved.
