PURPOSE: An interest point information providing method in a location based service and a device thereof are provided to offer more flexible and soft service to user by offering representative interest point information with user location information. CONSTITUTION: Location information of a user terminal positioned from a positioning system is received(S10). Search radius information is extracted by using the information(S20). The extracted search radius range above is corrected according to positioning accuracy information(S30). A decided search radius range is applied to an interest point DB and a POI(Point Of Interest) is searched(S60). All POIs existing within the corresponding range are extracted(S70). A representative POI to be offered to a user terminal is decided among the extracted POIs(S80).
