<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal element for preventing warpage of a liquid crystal cell, in which a polymer scattering type liquid crystal is held between two flexible substrates and a UV cutting film is stuck thereto, by a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal element 100 includes the liquid crystal cell 10 which includes a polymer scattering type liquid crystal 5 interposed between flexible substrates 3 and 6 and a UV cutting film 1 stuck onto a viewer side of the liquid crystal cell 10.
