PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for updating a program for updating a part of the program without stopping the system with the program. SOLUTION: In the system for updating the program which updates a processing program loaded in a main memory, the processing program is previously divided into the main module of an executable file and other partial modules. The processing program includes: a new module uploading means for uploading a new partial module for replacing an old partial module to the main memory; and an old and new module changeover means for changing over an effective partial module from the old partial module to the new partial module in the main memory. The processing program further includes an old module unloading means for unloading the old partial module in the main memory after changing over the effective partial module.
