PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device, an image processing method, and a computer program for learning and generating a classification rule of an image with high precision and at high speed, and an information recording medium therefor. SOLUTION: The image processing device generates the classification rule for classifying observational data of a plurality of the images located in a multi-dimension space centering on each of a plurality of the different image features into a plurality of the classes based on characteristics of an image, and includes a data detection means to detect, among the classified data which are given observation data to which the information on the image feature is given, boundary data which are the classified data near the boundary of one of the classes, and a first classification rule generating means to generate a first classification rule based on the boundary data.
