PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for manufacturing a dry ice block from a dry ice pellet capable of manufacturing the dry ice block which does not stick mutually in the case of storage and transportation. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the dry ice block, and in the method for housing a prescribed amount of the dry ice pellet in a forming room and compressing the dry ice pellet by a cylinder device, water is previously sprayed to the dry ice pellet before it is housed in the forming room. In the device for manufacturing the dry ice block, the forming room 30 for housing the dry ice pellet, a pellet supplying mechanism 2 for supplying a prescribed amount of the dry ice pellet in the forming room, the cylinder device 4 for suppressing the dry ice pellet in the forming room 30 and a block discharging mechanism 5 for discharging the dry ice block from the forming room 30 are provided, and in the pellet supplying mechanism 2, a spraying nozzle 7 for spraying the water to the dry ice pellet in a fluid state is provided.
