<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can be improved in color reproducibility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: one or more image carriers; a plurality of developing units 150C, 150M, 150Y, and 150B which form toner images by developing electrostatic latent images formed on the image carrier; a primary transfer body to which a plurality of toner images formed on the image carrier are transferred in layers; a fixing unit 180 which fixes toner images secondarily transferred from a primary transfer body to a secondary transfer body; and a vibrating section that vibrates the primary transfer body in a layered toner image conveyance area A where the layered toner images on the primary transfer body are secondarily transferred to the secondary transfer body after the toner images are layered and primarily transferred to the primary transfer body.
