<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel control device capable of properly controlling a fuel supply quantity with every cylinder in a diesel engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This diesel engine has a plurality of cylinders, and has an EGR mechanism. When a variation is large between the cylinders of the ratio of specific heat determined based on cylinder internal pressure with every cylinder, while setting a target fuel injection quantity with every cylinder by correcting the target fuel injection quantity so that the air excessive ratio with every cylinder becomes uniform between the respective cylinders, when the variation is not large between the cylinders of the ratio of specific heat, the target fuel injection quantity with every cylinder is set by correcting the target fuel injection quantity so that illustrated average effective pressure with every cylinder determined based on the cylinder internal pressure with every cylinder becomes uniform between the respective cylinders.
