<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable polyester fiber resistant to hydrolysis with time in case of storing the biodegradable polyester fiber, generating little fluffs and yarn breakage troubles in drawing process, or the like, and excellent in processing stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The biodegradable polyester fiber is obtained by coating a surface of the biodegradable polyester fiber with an oil agent containing 50-70 wt.% of an aliphatic ester compound (component a), 1-6 wt.% of a long-chain monoolefin dicarboxylic acid salt (component b) obtained by adding a 6C-18C olefin to a dicarboxylic acid having a double bond or its anhydride and 10-30 wt.% of a nonionic surfactant (component c) and having a moisture absorption of 3-10%. Preferably, the long-chain monoolefin dicarboxylic acid salt is an alkali metal salt, and the oil agent contains the nonionic surfactant. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
