The method involves supplying exhaust gas from exhaust pipes (2,4) of an internal combustion engine to a steam generator (3) for heating exhaust gas. The steam generated in steam generator is converted into kinetic energy by a steam turbine (6). The steam turbine is coupled with drive train of internal combustion engine. The exhaust steam is condensed and is recycled in steam-water circuit of steam generator. An independent claim is also included for a realization of waste heat recovery method.
