<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the fluctuations of the input/output characteristics generated due to passage of time or the environment, while balancing colors in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 for matching or approximating the input/output characteristics of a density setting value and an output density value in image processing with or to ideal input/output characteristics includes: a characteristic acquisition means 21 for acquiring the input/output characteristics of a prescribed color related to an output image for each color; a reference characteristic setting means 22 for selecting the input/output characteristics, related to one color from the respective input/output characteristics on the basis of a prescribed condition and setting the correlated reference characteristics for each color on the basis of the input/output characteristics; a calibration table generation means 23 for generating a calibration table, corresponding to the reference characteristics for each color; and a calibration means 24 for calibrating the input/output characteristics for each color, related to the output image to the reference characteristics set for the color, by correcting the output density value on the basis of the calibration table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
