<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput while repeating decoding processing of a decoding processing section. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the decoder 5, the decoding processing section 11 repeats decoding processing to coded input data. The decoding processing section 11 includes a plurality of stages 11a, 11b, 11c for successively executing a plurality of pieces of partial processing, where the decoding processing is divided. The final stage 11c is connected to the top stage 11a to repeat the decoding processing. New input data are processed at the top stage at timing before the completion of the repetition of the decoding processing to the input data previously inputted to the decoding processing section, and at timing when processing data for the input data previously inputted to the decoding processing section exist at a stage except the top stage.
