<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head assembly that quickly and very precisely controls flying height and can be easily manufactured, and also provide and a suspension arm and a magnetic disk drive. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An actuator 22 is formed between a slider 21 and a magnetic head section 23 in a magnetic head assembly 14 having a magnetic head section 23 including a magnetic head 13 formed at one end of the slider 21. The actuator 22 is configured by stacking a first electrode 31, a piezoelectric film 32, and a second electrode 33 at the end of the slider 21. When applying a predetermined voltage between the first and second electrodes 31, 33, the upper sides of the piezoelectric film 32 expand or contract in the voltage application direction to bend the actuator 22 in the vertical direction, and thus the flying height of the magnetic head 13 can be adjusted.
