<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which adjusts a scanning speed in accordance with the variation tendency of the scanning speed, even if the scanning speed stands within a predetermined range of speed, to reduce the variation of the scanning speed; and to provide an image-forming device equipped with the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A laser scanning device 20 includes a driving part 64, detection sensors 24, 25, and a control part 60. The driving part 64 supplies a scanning unit 26 with a voltage. The detection sensors 24, 25 detect beam light. When a variation between a first scanning speed at control timing T and a scanning speed at timing which is retroactive by a time interval L from the control timing T tends to rise, the control part 60 compares the first scanning speed with a first comparison value which is obtained by making a first threshold value smaller in accordance with the rising tendency. When the first scanning speed is larger, the control part decreases the voltage. When the variation tends to go down, the control part compares the first scanning speed with a second comparison value which is obtained by making a second threshold value larger in accordance with the downward tendency.
