<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning apparatus which has varied warning signs and allows a driver to easily grasp an overspeed situation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The warning apparatus which is installed in a vehicle and issues a warning that a vehicle speed exceeds a speed limit to the driver includes: a vehicle speed sensor 210 for detecting the vehicle speed of the vehicle; a navigation system unit 800 for acquiring information on the speed limit of a road on which the vehicle is traveling; and an interface unit 600 for displaying a difference amount equivalent to the difference between the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor 210 and the speed limit obtained by the navigation system unit 800 and a speed limit value.
