<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fin stabilizer including a maintenance-free fin angle detecting section with high durability and high reliability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fin stabilizer reduces a swing of a hull by changing a fin angle to a desired fin angle set value by a hydraulic cylinder 10. A noncontact type position sensor 30 detects the active position of the hydraulic cylinder 10. The fin stabilizer is feedback controlled so that a fin angle conversion value obtained by converting a detection value of the active position is identical to the fin angle set value.
