In a rectifier assembly each crystal diode is mounted in an externally finned cylinder detachably supported in a framework which also carries the associated bus-bars, Fig. 3 shows the crystal diode with metal base 2 and terminal 1a mounted in metal cylinder with cooling fins 3. Figs. 1 and 2 show such an assembly fitted between retaining combs 8 and 9 which are supported by plates 6; comb 9 is detachably mounted by means of a pin 10. Plates 6 are also fixed to walls 13 which have slots 14 to carry bus-bars 15 which are connected to the rectifiers, Bars 15 may be mounted in parallel or transversely to the rows of diodes. The open framework permits cooling by means of a fan. A plurality of such assemblies may be stacked. |
