Tool cleaning

The method involves cleaning a tool (3) to be measured by ultrasonic waves, where ultrasonic cleaning takes place in a container (4), which is filled with a fluid (5) e.g. water and oil or fat-dissolving medium. The container is arranged in proximity with a machine tool, a measuring device and/or tool changer, where cleaning of the tool to be measured is integrated into a working process, measuring process and/or into tool changing process. A spindle (1) is rotated to dissolve particles of the fluid based on centrifugal force. An independent claim is also included for a device for cleaning and measuring a tool of a machine tool.
