A portable terminal device having a structure suitable for insertion and removal of a card from the device with a battery received in a battery receiving section. A portable telephone has a housing body (21) having formed in it a battery receiving section (19) for receiving a battery (17) and also has a cover (23) for covering the battery receiving section (19). The battery receiving section (19) has a second card insertion section (27) located in a region that is, when the battery (17) is received in the battery receiving section (19), not hidden by the battery (17) but covered and hidden by the cover (23). With a second card (C2) inserted in position, the second card insertion section (27) is covered and hidden together with the battery (17) by the cover (23). |
