Method and device for operating a turboprop aircraft engine with thrust propellers

The method involves guiding cold air from the environment outside of an aircraft engine into a hot exhaust gas flow that flows through thrust propellers (10) of the aircraft engine and a connecting structure (12) of the thrust propellers. A cooling air flow is mixed with the hot exhaust gas flow before reaching the thrust propellers and the connecting structure of the thrust propellers. Flow velocity of the hot exhaust gas flow of the aircraft engine is accelerated for lowering the static pressure in the hot exhaust gas flow and decelerated after supply of cold air from the environment. An independent claim is also included for a device for operating a turbo-prop aircraft engine.
