<p>An external rotor for a direct current drive motor, comprising a side wall 1, an end cover 2 disposed at the bottom of the side wall 1, a cavity 3 formed there between, a plurality of openings 4 formed in the side wall 1, a base 5 disposed at the centre of the end cover 2, and a centre hole 7 connected to a transmission shaft of the motor and disposed at the centre of the base 5; wherein the side wall 1 and the end cover 2 are integrally formed by injection moulding, and a magnetic yoke shell 12 and a plurality of magnetic tiles 6 are received in the side wall 1. Ventilation aperture 9 are provided in the base and the "V" shaped vanes 8 act to impel ventilating air during either direction of rotation. Ribs 17,18 reinforce the central aperture 7 which may be a splined insert (figs 4,7) or form by the moulding process. Ribs 13 (fig 6) retain magnets and reinforcing ribs 15,16 reinforce the vane structure and the connection between the side walls 1 and the central portion 5.</p> |
