The dual use knife comprises a body equipped with a first opening, an edge (3) of a blade forming a trimming tool part for which the part of the accessible blade edge is framed by protecting walls (5, 6) and fitted with a second opening (7), an access point (8) of the blade at the end of the knife, and a removable rear cover. The body of the knife comprises a housing for sliding the blade between a retracted safe position for which the tip of the blade remains inside the body and a forward position for which the point of the blade protrudes from the body by the second opening. A return unit of the blade is present in the direction of the retracted position. A movable abutment body is sliding in a rear part of the knife. The abutment movable body is adapted to define many abutment positions more or less reversed for the blade. Back abutment position is made using a notching device between the abutment body and a knife groove in which the abutment body slides. The rear portion is constituted by removable rear cover. The blade comprises a serrated profile.
