In a zig-zag sewing-machine, diagrams of stitch patterns producible thereon are arranged on a member in two series of intersecting lines, and each line of each series has associated therewith a knob or like operating means, a particular stitch pattern being automatically indicated and selected by manipulating the two knobs aligned with the corresponding diagram.
